Yarn Giveaway and Some News

I hope you are staying warm through this extraordinary cold!

I’m doing a Choose Your Yarn Adventure Giveaway. This time I decided to offer you your choice of five different yarn bases all dyed on one of my favorite colorways–A Little Princess, inspired by the beautiful book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. You can enter to win by choosing your favorite yarn base here, and you can get extra points by spreading the word about Purple Lamb and about the giveaway. The winner will receive his or her favorite skein.

In other news, I’m getting ready to be a part of a knitters’ retreat at the historic La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona. A group of fiber enthusiasts from Albuquerque are joining up with a group from here to enjoy each others’ company and indulge in a whole weekend to knit and crochet in this beautiful old hotel. Doesn’t that sound delightful? I’ll be selling my yarn there, but I hope to have some time to knit and chat too.

There are a couple more weeks to sign up for my monthly yarn and art batt clubs for the March club colorway. This month–February–was the first month, and I had a lot of fun dyeing up the colorway inspired by Seurat’s “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.” I’ve been anxiously waiting to show this to you until everyone who signed up for the club had received theirs. This is what it looked like on Sock Perfection.

If you’re interested in joining one of the clubs, you can find out more about each one here. Each month, the exclusive club colorway will be inspired by a different famous painting. I’m debating between a couple of different paintings to use as inspiration for March, but I should have it chosen by next week.

On a personal note, I finished the Free Your Fade shawl I’ve been working on. I used my So Silky Sock yarn in Monet’s Cathedral, Van Gogh, and Van Gogh Splashed & Speckled. It’s far from perfect, but I’m still really happy with how it turned out. I especially like the Picot bind-off. Here it is:

Happy fiber artistry!
