Good morning! One of the things I have had to learn about having a fiber arts business is that I have to create for at least a season ahead. My natural tendency is to say, “Oh, look. It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. I should make something for that.” Of course that doesn’t work. That said, I am happy to report that I am done packaging up all the Yarn Advent Calendars in plenty of time for Advent.
What’s next? Why, Christmas of course, so I dyed up four Twelve Days of Christmas mini-skein sets.
I used the same colorways for the Twelve Days of Christmas sets as I did for this year’s Yarn Advent Calendars–only instead of going from light to dark and back to light again, the colorways just go from light to dark. Each mini skein has 80 yards.
Last year, I dyed a combination of semi-solids and variegated colorways. This year it’s speckles, speckles everywhere. It’s a gradient going from light speckles all the way to a very dark, rich colorway.
I never want to be that pushy salesperson who says, “Buy now or else,” but I will tell you that I only made four of these sets, so if you would like one, well, you know. You can learn more about them here.
Pippins
I just added Pippins to my shop. What’s a Pippin?
Pippin is a delightful hobbit from The Lord of the Rings. He is full of good cheer, but he gets into mischief rather easily. Similar to Pippin, I have yarn and fiber that occasionally “get into mischief” and don’t behave the way they should, so I made a new section of my shop here for those lovely but unique skeins and fiber.
Right now, my Pippins include three skeins of Black Butterfly where I put the little stripes of color in the wrong order, and you’ll also find one remaining skein I had of Kristin Lavransdatter in the Super Sport yarn base I’m not carrying right now.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Does it feel like fall, or is it already effectively winter where you live? We’re still enjoying lovely fall weather, but I figure that pumpkin-flavored everything–including yarn–only has the right to exist from the beginning of October through Thanksgiving, so I have probably made my last Pumpkin Spice Latte yarn for the year.
I loved it so much that I went a little crazy. You’ll find it on art batts, Sock Perfection, So Silky Sock, Squoosh DK, and Quick and Cozy Bulky, and one of my favorite colorway combos is Pumpkin Spice Latte, Copper Roof, and Turquoise.
Here they are on Quick and Cozy Bulky:
I have all three in stock on both Quick and Cozy Bulky and also on So Silky Sock right now.
Tempe Yarn
I’m going to be taking part in Tempe Yarn’s Local Artist Day on December 7th. If you live in or around Phoenix, I’d love to say hello.
That’s everything for this week. I hope you have a beautiful autumn filled with all the warm things. You know the saying–cold needles, warm heart–or something like that. ;-]
