Good morning and happy Friday to you. Today I’m going to keep it short and sweet. I just wanted to show you a few new colorways and colorway combos I have dyed up this week. I also want to let you know what I’ll be using as inspiration for my September club colorway.
Hand-Dyed Silk Scarves
First of all, I dyed some new hand-dyed silk infinity scarves. I just have one of each. Here they are:
These hand-dyed silk infinity scarves are made of Habotai silk, and they are light as a feather. They are great for gifts or just adding a special touch to any outfit. The nice thing is they are lovely to wear all year long–even in summer. I will admit to having a number of these in my own wardrobe.
Hand-Dyed Yarn
I also have some new and some old colorways I have dyed this week. Like I mentioned before, I have moved into fall colorways with a vengeance, and now I’m just waiting for weather to match the colorways. I’m also continuing to dye up some colorways that are great all year long.
Let me start by showing you a set of fall colorways:
I dyed all of these on Sock Perfection, but many of these colorways are available on several other bases as well. These would make a fantastic big fade shawl like Andrea Mowry’s Find Your Fade, and they work together beautifully in small sets as well.
I also dyed up Beautiful Universe this week for the first time in several months. Here it is on Squoosh DK:
I have Beautiful Universe available on Squoosh DK as well as Sock Perfection and Sparkly Merino Sock.
After I dyed up Beautiful Universe this time around, I also took a little time to play around with it and create some variations. This is a one-of-a-kind set called Variations on the Theme of Beautiful Universe that I dyed on Aran Go Baa.
I also dyed up Crab Nebula this week. Here it is for the first time on So Silky Sock:
Crab Nebula–like all my colorways–is a little lighter on So Silky Sock. I have Crab Nebula available on lots of different yarn bases right now.
I also wanted to show you Beowulf, which I just dyed for the first time this fall. Here it is on Sparkly Merino Sock:
I think Beowulf would look great with The Winedark Sea, Phantom of the Opera, or Epiphany.
September Club Colorway
I have chosen Georgia O’Keeffe’s painting, “Maple and Cedar” to use as the inspiration for September’s club colorway. Here it is:
I do want to mention that the September club colorways will be a little later than usual because our oldest daughter is getting married near the beginning of September! Isn’t that exciting? I can’t believe the wedding is almost here!
I think that’s everything for today. I hope you have a beautiful weekend and find some time to knit, crochet, weave, or spin. Stay well!
