I have some lovely projects to share with you for this month’s Show and Tell newsletter. It is always such a joy for me to see what you are working on and share it with everyone. If you send in a WIP or FO, you get to share your work with an audience that really understands what goes into what you made. At the same time, everyone reading the newsletter gets a chance to check out some new patterns and get inspiration for their next project.
Feel free to send me photos and info about your works in progress and finished objects anytime it’s convenient for you, and I’ll save them up for the next Show and Tell newsletter. I usually do one every couple months.
Without further ado, let’s get started!
This first project is this beautiful shawl that Alden made. The name of the pattern is Sharon, and it’s by Melinda Measor.
She used Annunciation Blue and The Hands of the King from my shop as well as that lovely silver colorway from another indie dyer. She said it was a long time in coming, but she’s really pleased with the results, and who wouldn’t be? It’s gorgeous!
Of note, I have switched out The Hands of the King for Eowyn Meets with Aragorn. They are very similar, but Eowyn is a little darker.
The next project I get to share with you was sent in by Leslie. Leslie designed this cardigan herself, which amazes me no end.
She used the original Crocuses in Snow on So Silky Sock–the non-assigned-pooling version. Leslie also made this lovely scarf with the remaining yarn from her sweater:
It’s so pretty and delicate, isn’t it?
The next project I have to share with you is a WIP from my daughter Elizabeth. She is making these cabled gloves for her hubby:
The pattern is called Moss Cabled Gloves, and it’s by the Veridian Design Team. She is using Mithril on So Silky Sock to make them. They are going to be wonderful and finished just in time for colder weather!
The next pattern is from Lynn. Like Leslie, Lynn designed the sweater herself. I have some amazingly talented customers, don’t I?
She used Emeralds and Amethyst along with Cerise on Sparkly Merino Sock. Emeralds and Amethyst is an assigned pooling colorway, and she came up with her own assigned pooling technique as well. Isn’t this delightful?
I have a couple WIPs of my own to include this time. These are both patterns I’m designing. The first one is a triangular shawl that I think I’ll be calling The Ripple Shawl:
I used Cecelia Campochiaro’s Sequence Knitting book as inspiration for this, and the colorway is Les Vendeuses de Tissue by Lois Jones dyed on Squoosh Worsted. I’m actually knitting up a second sample right now to work out the details. This is fascinating to knit!
The other pattern I’m working on is a rectangular stole that uses Old Shale and beads. I’m not sure about the name yet, but here it is so far:
I’m using Dreams of the Sea and Caribbean Sunset on So Silky Sock for this one. I might call it Stole in Waves, but I’m certainly open to ideas.
Nicole sent this next project:
She crocheted it using the Floating Rosebud Pattern by Melissa Lowing. However, Nicole used the puff stitch instead of the popcorn stitch for the assigned pooling sections. She used Though the Fig Tree Blossom Not. Isn’t it pretty?
Last but certainly not least is this lovely crocheted sweater that Zohnette sent in:
The pattern is The Smokey Quartz Cardigan by Janine from Knits N Knots. I didn’t find the pattern on Ravelry, but you can follow the designer on Instagram @knitsnknotswpg.
I’m so delighted to have so many lovely sweaters to share with you this time around–just in time for sweater season.
Dyed to Order
If you have been around for awhile, you probably know that there is a dyed to order section of my shop. Until this week, though, it was organized by yarn base and didn’t have photos, which made it a little hard to use.
This week, I spent some time recreating the dyed to order section of my shop so that you can see the colorways and then choose which yarn base you prefer. It’s my goal to always have a great selection of colorways in stock and ready to ship. However, sometimes you need more than I have in stock on a particular yarn base or you really like a colorway but need it in a different weight or yarn base for your project. Now you can order as many skeins as you need on any of my yarn bases! You can find the new Dyed to Order section of my shop right here.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for me to dye it up and ship it off to you. I would also encourage you to order all the yarn you’ll need for a project because the skeins will look most similar if I dye them at the same time.
While I was making the new dyed to order section of my shop, I also added some different ways to look for yarn. Now you can browse by yarn base, yarn weight, dye technique, inspiration, and color. Hopefully this will make it very easy for you to find just what you’re looking for.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
This week, I dyed up Ocean at Night and Paris on several different yarn bases. Here is Ocean at Night on the new Twinkle Sock I mentioned last week:
Here is Paris on Suri Lace Cloud:
I think that’s everything for now. Have a wonderful week!
