Show and Tell – April 2025

I have some beautiful projects to share with you for this month’s Show and Tell! It’s always such a joy to see what my little “yarn babies” grow up to become, and I’m flabbergasted by your talent!

Let’s start with this gorgeous shawl that Anne crocheted:

The pattern is Red Teapot Atelier’s Ceylon Tea Shawl. She used the Four Seasons colorways to make the shawl, starting with winter and ending with spring. I’m just blown away by how gorgeous that is!

Anne also made a number of lovely cowls in a variety of colorways over the last few months.

She made the top left with The Four Seasons (left over from her beautiful shawl), the top middle with the Masaccio colorway from the February club, the top right and bottom left with Beautiful Universe, the bottom middle with The Great Black Bull, and the bottom right with Peacock Feathers. I especially love how that one turned out with the waves of color!

Next is this beautiful wing-like shawl that Bobbe knit:

The pattern is the Mara Shawl by Madelinetosh, and Bobbe used the Afremov’s Farewell to Anger colorway.

Next is an example of an ongoing project from Barbara. She volunteers her time making blankets with crocheted edges for an organization called Art Helps Cancer that provides care packages for those undergoing cancer treatment.

We have two projects from Cila. The first is this gorgeous shawl:

The dark colorway is Dappled Things, and the lighter one was something from her stash. She made it using Stephen West’s All the Angles pattern.

Cila is also working on this shawl using Martina Behm’s Baltic Summer pattern:

She’s using Autumn Leaves to make it.

Our next work in progress is from Jillaine who is making these delightful socks:

She is making them with The Great Black Bull colorway, and I love the organic-looking stripes, don’t you?

Lynn designed and knit this beautiful shawl:

She used Epiphany and Party Like It’s 2029, both on Suri Lace Cloud. I bet this shawl practically floats! Here’s a closeup so you can see the texture:

This next project is from Leslie who created the pattern and knit this beautiful sweater:

She made it using Enchanted Forest on Squiggle Sock, and I think this lovely sweater really has the feel of an Enchanted Forest!

I have a project of my own to share as well too. This has been a whole year in coming:

I made mitered squares on Squoosh Worsted from each of the 2024 club colorways and then crocheted them together. This was my on-the-go project all year. If you look at the bottom edge, you can see all the colorways from January to December in order. Altogether, the mitered squares made a twin-sized blanket, which I gave to our youngest son, Peter. Here he is curling up in it for the first time:

He has been sleeping with it ever since!

The Changing of the Guard

Just a few months ago I introduced Sublime Sport. This very soft yarn base is made of baby alpaca and super fine non-superwash merino. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been moving, so it’s time for the changing of the guard so to speak.

I have already taken Sublime Sport out of the dyed to order options. I dyed up the remaining yarn I had in stock, and I’m offering the skeins at a discount. We’ll keep this between us until Monday, and then I’ll share it on social media if there is any left. Use the coupon code SUBLIME5 to get $5 off each skein of Sublime Sport. I dyed them in Farewell to Anger and Northern Lights. Here they are in Afremov’s Farewell to Anger:

You can find them both right here.

Meanwhile I have changed out Sublime Sport for Feather Sock, which is now available as dyed to order in all the colorways.

I had Feather Sock a few years ago and I wanted to bring it back in time for warmer weather. It’s a 2-ply yarn made of 85% non-superwash merino and 15% silk. It’s a light sock weight with almost 500 yards per skein, and it’s great for shawls, sweaters, and more.

Here it is on Paris:

If you click on the Yarn Dyed to Order section of my shop, you’ll see that it is organized by colorway. Click on the colorway you want and then select the yarn base. It takes a little longer to ship since I dye it just for you, but you get to choose whichever yarn base is perfect for your project, including the new Feather Sock.

This Week in the Studio

My big focus this week (and last week) has been getting the Eight Days of Easter kits dyed and packaged. I just got the last ones shipped yesterday, so if you ordered one you should be seeing it in the next few days. I hope you love it!

In addition to the last Sublime Sport colorways I showed you above, I dyed Purple Delight and Epiphany on Twinkle Sock. Here is Purple Delight:

I hope you are enjoying some lovely spring weather and some time to knit, crochet, weave, or spin. See you next week!
