Good morning, and happy New Year to you! I hope you have been having a wonderful holiday season. Today I have something special for you.
Chances are you have spent the last several months creating beautiful items as gifts for your loved ones. Now it’s your turn to make something just for you!
I have put together some sets of yarn for Casapinka’s pattern, Your Slip Is Showing. It’s a really fun shawl pattern that uses slip stitches so you see two colors at once. I made sets on So Silky Sock, Sparkly Merino Sock, Sock Perfection, and Stained Glass Sock. You can see them all right here or one by one below.
A Question about Sets and Kits
While we’re on the topic, I would love to hear from you. I don’t often make sets like these to go with a pattern, but I would be happy to put together more if you like them. Do you like sets like these, or do you prefer to put your own together? If you do like them, are there any patterns you would like to see sets for?
Fresh from the Dye Pot
This week I dyed up Ocean at Night on lots of yarn bases, including Super Sport shown here:
I also created a new colorway that has been in the idea stage for a long time. It’s called Fire and Ice, and I dyed it as an assigned pooling colorway with three quarters “Ice” and one quarter “Fire.” I think it would look great with Dawn Barker’s Float or Glide pattern.
Here is Fire and Ice on Sparkly Merino Sock:
Show and Tell Next Week
I’ll be doing the January Show and Tell newsletter next week, so if you have any more WIPs or FOs to share, please email them to me.
Have a wonderful weekend. I hope your return to ordinary time is going smoothly and that you find some time to relax and create this week.
