Good morning and happy Friday to you. I’ll keep it short and sweet today. I just wanted to announce the painting I’ll be using as inspiration for November’s club colorway.
Beginning about three months ago, I decided to start going in order by major art period. This month will be a painting from the Rococo period. Rococo is like Baroque on steroids.
I chose a painting by Fragonard called The Swing. Here it is:
If you would like to sign up or switch clubs in time for The Swing, please do so by the 1st of November.
A Little More About My Clubs
I started my yarn and art batt clubs at the beginning of 2019. I offer the club colorway on art batts for spinners and felters and also on a variety of different yarn bases. The colorways themselves are a surprise until you receive your squishy mail, but you can take a look at past colorways right here: https://www.purplelambfiberarts.com/club-colorways/
Each month, I choose a painting and do my best to take the colors and the structure of the painting and convey that in yarn and art batts. For all the yarn bases, I also offer the option of a matching semi-solid to go with it.
It’s a subscription, which means you’ll get a new colorway each month. However, I made it very easy to switch clubs, pause your subscription, skip a month, or cancel altogether.
These also make really great gifts. If you are intending for it to be a gift, let me know. That way I won’t include any pricing info in each month’s package. You can learn more about my yarn and art batt clubs here.
Feather Sock Sale
The Feather Sock sale continues. I’m down to the last 20 skeins right now. Just use the coupon code FEATHER15 to take 15% off this lovely yarn base.
I really hate to discontinue it because it is so soft and luscious, but I frequently have people ask if I have any yarn bases without wool because of allergies and sensitivities, so I’m going to be replacing Feather Sock with a sock-weight base without wool in early 2023.
Advent Calendar Update
I am about halfway through dyeing up the Advent calendars. Since the theme this year is Frodo and Sam’s journey through The Lord of the Rings, I’m using lots of earth tones, and creating the colorways has been an amazing experience. I am on target to have the yarn dyed, packaged, and shipped to everyone who ordered one in early November.
An Upcoming Festival
This Saturday I’m going to be taking part in an alumni business fair at my alma mater. It’s just a one-day event, and I get one table. I am still wracking my brain to decide what to bring and what not to bring. The weather should be lovely though.
Fall Colorways
I still have most of the colorways in my new fall collection in stock. You can see those and a few other fall colorways right here.
I think that’s everything for this week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and find some time to enjoy the fiber arts. Stay well!
