Happy Friday to you.
I want to talk to you about some new colorways in the shop today and also announce the club colorway for April and why I chose it.
Let’s talk about the new colorways first.
Bedecked
I’m especially excited to share Bedecked with you. Here it is:
Not only is Bedecked a new colorway, but it’s also a new type of colorway for me. I dyed most of the yarn Eggplant and then went back and dyed the middle section on both sides in a short stripe of Burgundy Rose, Turquoise, Renaissance Blue, Lilac, and No Shrinking Violet. Naturally, this colorway would look great with any of those semi-solid colorways. It would also go beautifully with Ball at Netherfield or Beautiful Universe.
The photo above shows it on Sock Perfection, but I also have it available on Sparkly Merino Sock, So Silky Sock, and Stained Glass Sock. You can see them all right here.
I did want to mention that I finally have Stained Glass Sock once again. It was out of stock at my wholesaler’s for several months, so you’ll be seeing lots more colorways on Stained Glass Sock soon.
Spring Wedding
I also dyed up Spring Wedding for the first time since last spring. I have it on Cashmere Sock, Sock Perfection, and Sparkly Merino Sock. You may be happy to hear that I am planning to dye up more Cashmere Sock for the shop and not just for my club.
Here’s Spring Wedding:
As you can see, half the yarn is dyed a light blue, and the other half is dyed just like my Monet colorway with stripes and speckles of Caribbean Blue, Renaissance Blue, No Shrinking Violet, and Lilac.
I know how hard it can be to see what will go with what when you’re buying online. Let me just mention here that I am always happy to help if you aren’t sure which colorways to choose to go together.
The Hands of the King
I also dyed up more of The Hands of the King this week. It’s one of my favorite colorways both in terms of how it looks and the dye process too.
I have The Hands of the King available on Wonderful Worsted, Sock Perfection, So Silky Sock, Sparkly Merino Sock and Stained Glass Sock.
I have so many more colorways I want to tell you about, but I know you have more important things to do. Starlight, Sunset Orange, Mint Julep, Seashell, and Van Gogh’s Starry Night all come to mind, but you can see them for yourself if you go visit the New This Month section of my shop.
April Club Colorway
I do have one more important thing to tell you, and that is the club colorway for April.
Now, it may seem a little odd to choose this painting now instead of pretty much anytime in the last year, so I’ll tell you why. Every month for the last year of COVID-19, I have considered selecting this painting, but I decided to choose something more hopeful instead because I figured we all needed hope and bright happy colors, so (with a few exceptions) that has been my focus.
Nonetheless, I think this painting represents the ethos of the last year. Now that there is light at the end of the tunnel as the numbers of new cases decline, I realized that I had better choose it now or it won’t make sense. Also, I am fascinated by the colors and the challenge of “re-creating” it as yarn and art batts.
I also wanted to mention one other thing related to my clubs. I have moved all the subscription renewal dates to the last few days of the month so you have as much time as possible to make any changes you want to make before your subscription renews.
…And They’re Off
Last of all, I want to thank everyone who ordered an Eight Days of Easter Kit. I got them all packaged up and mailed them this week.
Stay well!
