Good morning and happy Friday! I have so many exciting things to share with you today that I almost don’t know where to start!
I want to tell you about the Mothers’ Day Sale that starts today, the painting I chose for the club colorways for May, and the new silk scarves I have in the shop.
May Club Colorway
Let’s start with the May club colorway. I had the hardest time deciding between several beautiful paintings, but I decided to go with Monet’s painting, “London Houses of Parliament (The Sun Shining Through the Fog).”
Like so many of Monet’s works, this is one of a series of paintings that he started in London and finished at Giverny. He painted this particular one in 1904. I chose this one first and foremost because it is so beautiful. I’m also excited about the challenge of creating the yarn and fiber colorway using the lilacs, mauves, lavenders, orange, peach, yellow, fuchsia, and green that are all somehow vibrant and muted at the same time.
New Silk Infinity Scarves
This week I had so much fun dyeing up habotai silk infinity scarves. Even more than hand-dyed yarn, each one is truly unique. These are such a great way to add a splash of color and pull together an outfit for spring and summer just like we all do with our woollies in colder weather.
While they were drying in the backyard, I made a video with a little more info about each one.
The video shows a few that sold out quickly, but I am going to be ordering more of these soon, so if you see a colorway you want or would love to see a silk scarf in any of my regular colorways, please contact me and let me know so I can put it on the list. Please forgive the messy backyard. We’re getting ready to move to our new house, so there’s a lot going on.
I want to thank everyone who had colorway suggestions on Facebook and Instagram this week. Your suggestions were brilliant, and I tried to make as many of them as I could. I also want to thank Mary who gifted me the model head back in January of 2020 when she kindly helped me set up my booth at the Arizona Fiber Arts Retreat. Was that really less than a year and a half ago? It’s hard to believe!
Stitch Marker Sets
While we’re on the topic of unique items in the shop, I should mention that I have made some more of the stitch marker sets. Each set has 4 different colored glass bead markers and one that says “made with love.” The colors vary. I used large lobster clasps, so these are great for knitters and crocheters alike.
You can find these in the Tools and Equipment section of my shop. They make great gifts for Mothers’ Day too.
Mothers’ Day Sale
Speaking of Mothers’ Day, I’m having a big Mothers’ Day sale to celebrate all the moms. If you’re the mom, consider this my way of saying thank you for making the world a better place.
If you are trying to find something for your mom, then think of this as a great way to find something your creative mom will love!
I’m offering 20% off all my in-stock hand-dyed yarn, hand-dyed top, and kits too. Just use the coupon code, THANKSMOM, when you check out or follow this link to have it applied automatically. You can browse through the shop to find just what you’re looking for, and you can also see everything in the sale here. The sale starts today and goes through April 30th.
If you think your mom would rather choose for herself, I am also offering 10% off all my gift cards using the coupon code, GIFTCARDFORMOM. My gift cards never expire or lose value. When you order one, it will come to your email address, and then you can print it out or forward it to whomever you wish. You are welcome to use both coupons, but you’ll need to check out separately with each one since you can only use one at a time.
I think that’s everything for today. I hope you have a wonderful week and that you find some time to enjoy the fiber arts this week!
