Assigned Pooling, Spinning

Last Day for the Four Seasons Preorder

Today is the last day for the Four Seasons preorder I mentioned last week. It was inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as well as the beautiful seasons themselves. Thank you to everyone who already ordered a set! Here’s what Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter look like on Sock Perfection:

I also have the sets available for preorder on Twinkle Sock, Squoosh DK, and Squoosh Worsted, and you can find some great pattern suggestions to knit or crochet with in the listing right here.

I am planning to get started dyeing them tomorrow.

Fresh from the Dye Pots

I’ve been dyeing up a variety of different colorways this week. For starters, I dyed up four butterfly colorways. From left to right, these are Quino Checkerspot, Indian Jezebel, Monarch, and Colorado Hairstreak:

Quino Checkerspot is a splashed and speckled colorway, Monarch is a tonal colorway, and the other two are assigned pooling colorways. Altogether these four butterfly colorways would be great for a Metamorphosis Shawl.

I also dyed up a one-of-a-kind colorway called Darkest Dusk. I have four skeins of it on Sock Perfection. Here they are:

I dyed these in layers with a multitude of colors for the first layer followed by a layer of my Regal purple colorway, so you can see the colors from the first layer peeking through. I’m so tempted to snag a skein of this myself!

I also dyed Northern Lights on a couple different yarn bases. Here it is on Squoosh DK:

Last but not least, I dyed Sunflower and Starry Night, and they look great together! Here’s Sunflower on Sock Perfection:

I adjusted the dye just a smidge on this colorway to give it a little bit more of a golden hue.

Here is Starry Night knit up in Dawn Barker’s Float Shawl:

Join the Purple Lamb Spin Together Team

There’s one more week to sign up for Spin Together, and I would love to have you on my team! You can learn more on the How It Works page of the Spin Together website. The competition and all the fun will take place between February 22nd and March 1st. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

On a Personal Note

We have had a very “interesting” week. We were going down to San Antonio for our grandson’s second birthday on Sunday. Unfortunately, about one hundred miles into our journey, we ended up on the side of the road with what turned out to be a blown head gasket. Now we are trying to figure out whether it makes sense to fix our minivan or sell it to a junk yard. If you have any experience with this sort of thing on an older Toyota Sienna, I’d love to hear what you decided to do and how it turned out.
