This week, I wanted to mention first and foremost that Sunday is the last day to order an Eight Days of Easter Kit. These are fantastic fun for you or a fellow yarn lover.
Each kit includes eight 10 gram mini skeins, and each mini skein comes packaged inside an Easter egg, and the whole thing comes inside a small reusable basket with a yummy surprise.
The kit also includes my Diamond Twist Cowl pattern, which is a great lacy and drapey cowl perfect for knitting in company and great to wear for spring.
The kit comes with your choice of two sock-weight yarn bases. One is just a lovely soft and plump 80/20 sock-weight yarn, and the other one has the addition of sparkly stellina.
The idea is to open one Easter egg and knit the yarn from it each day starting on Easter Sunday and finishing on the following Sunday. It’s just a little something to look forward to each day.
You can order your Eight Days of Easter kit here any time between now and Sunday night.
New Merino and Merino-Blend Top for Spinning and Felting
I have something new in my shop that I wanted to show you. I have several colorways in a few different merino blends for spinning and felting.
Here’s the first one, which is made of merino top and sparkly stellina:
It’s called Fairy Tale. It’s a little hard to see just how sparkly it is in the photo, but it is very sparkly indeed.
The second one is made of 100% merino. It’s called Juliet. Here it is in all the colors of romance:
It’s a lovely soft and smooth fiber that’s easy to draft and spin, and it would be great for felting as well.
Last of all is Over the Sea to Skye made of 70% merino wool and 30% tussah silk. My daughter and I nearly swooned over this one when we saw it in person. It’s lovely and soft, and the colors are such a great blend.
All three can be found in the Fiber to Spin and Felt section of my shop.
I’m continuing to work on updating my photographs. I’ve been working on art batts this week. Here’s a particular favorite. This is Bird of Paradise, inspired by the beautiful little trees in full bloom:
In this time of uncertainty, I hope that you and your family stay safe and well. Until next week, happy fiber artistry!
