I have a brand new luxury yarn base to share with you this week. It’s made of 19.5 micron super baby alpaca and 17.5 micron merino, and it is sublimely soft. Naturally, I named it Sublime Sport.
It’s a 3-ply yarn with 328 yards per 100 gram skein. In terms of softness, I would compare this to Buttery Soft DK and Dream Sock. Like both of those, Sublime Sport is a non-superwash luxury yarn and tends to dye up a little more muted than my superwash yarn bases. The merino gives the yarn memory while the alpaca gives it drape, so it’s great for lacy shawls, sweaters, and warp and weft in weaving.
I would like to offer an introductory discount for all of you this weekend. Just use the coupon code SUBLIMESPORT10 to get 10% off now through Monday night. The coupon is good for in-stock colorways and dyed to order too! If you click on this link, the code will be added to your cart.

One More Yarn Base
With the addition of Sublime Sport, I am now up to 11 yarn bases. I’d like to add one more for a nice even 12. So, what’s missing? What type of yarn base would you like to see me carry that I don’t have now? A smooth lace-weight yarn base? A bulky yarn base? A bouclé? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
