Good morning, and happy Friday to you!
Thank You!
First of all, I want to thank everyone who took part in my Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. It was a blessing for my family, and I appreciate each of you so much.
Fresh from the Dye Pots
I have been busy dyeing up some fresh colorways and wanted to share them with you. I dyed up new batches of the butterfly colorways that had sold out. I was debating about continuing to dye these in the winter, but they are so bright and cheerful that I couldn’t resist.
This is the one I’m hoping to make for myself eventually as a big cozy shawl:
Here’s one that fades to purple with Colorado Hairstreak. Isn’t that a funny name for such a beautiful butterfly?
I also created a new colorway that goes with the butterfly colorways even though it isn’t one of them. I named it “Walkin’ on the Sun” after the song by Smash Mouth. Yes, I know that is not exactly my usual wheelhouse of classical themes, but that’s okay. Here is Walkin’ on the Sun on Stained Glass Sock:
I have it on several other yarn bases as well. It’s very similar to Monarch but a deeper hue with a touch of fuchsia as well.
As I was writing this, I was thinking how great Walkin’ on the Sun would look as a Sunset fade with Sunflower and The Winedark Sea. I’ll be dyeing up Sunflower on many different bases later today, but here are all three together on Stained Glass Sock:
The last colorway I want to show you is actually the one I am most excited about. It’s Dreams of the Sea. I actually created this colorway two or three years ago, but at some point I had decided that it was too similar to Sapphire Dreams to have both. However, while they are similar, they certainly are not the same. Sapphire Dreams has purple and fuchsia while Dreams of the Sea is almost entirely blues and greens with a tiny bit of deep violet. Long story short, I think they both have a place in my shop, so I am reintroducing Dreams of the Sea, and I hope you love it as much as I do!
Advent Calendars
Can you believe it’s already December? That means that if you got one, it’s time to start your Advent calendars! I would love it if you would share your progress as you go, whether you are using the pattern I included or something entirely different. Have a wonderful weekend!
