This year’s Eight Days of Easter kits are available to order now!
This will actually be the 6th consecutive year I have made these kits. Think of them like mini Advent sets. They make great gifts and just a fun spring project.
This year’s kit has eight 20 gram sock-weight mini skeins and a great knitting pattern too. The colorways will be inspired by this photo of spring tulips:
Isn’t it lovely? It was actually hard to narrow down the colors to just eight!
The kit will come in an Easter basket. In past years I have used large plastic Easter eggs like this:
This year, though, I’m offering the option of plastic Easter eggs or small satin bags like these:
The eggs or little bags will go in a reusable Easter basket like the one above with paper Easter grass.
Inside each bag or egg is a 20 gram sock-weight mini skein with 92 yards, so the whole set has 736 yards of yarn. The minis are my Splendid Sock yarn base, made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. These are soft enough for shawls and sturdy enough for socks.
The pattern is the Mini Madness Shawl by Angie Kimel. Here’s a photo if the shawl in Angie’s original colors:
Angie’s pattern includes a combination of peaceful garter stitch and fun eyelets. Please keep in mind that the colorways in the kit will be different. I’m using semi-solid colorways this time.
There’s more information about the Eight Days of Easter Kits on my website, including the price, timeline, and more. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.
There is a limited number, so I’m going to wait to mention the kits on social media until Monday so that all of you–my newsletter subscribers–get first dibs.
On a Personal Note
I mentioned in last week’s newsletter that we were going down to visit our daughter, son-in-law, and our adorable grandson for his first birthday. I thought I’d share a few photos of Eddie and some of our kiddos. We have a fun family tradition of giving the 1-year-old his very own cake, and you can see that he really enjoyed it!
Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you find time for lots of fiber joy!
