Good morning and happy Friday to you! This morning, I wanted to show you a few new things in the shop, most especially this year’s Eight Days of Easter Kit!
Eight Days of Easter Kits
Several years ago now, I came up with the idea of dyeing mini skeins and packaging them up in an Easter basket with a mini skein in each of the Easter eggs. This will be the fourth year for my Eight Days of Easter Kits, and I am doing a happy dance because I am so excited about the pattern and the yarn in this year’s kit.
I’ll be including the Take It All shawl knitting pattern (Ravelry link) by Lisa Hannes of maliha designs. I love all the different stitch patterns she included in this fabulous shawl. It’s going to be so much fun.
For the yarn, I will be dyeing up eight 20 gram sock-weight mini skeins made of a luxurious merino/silk blend. I will also be including a full-sized skein of my Cashmere Sock. Altogether, each kit will include over 1000 yards of bliss.
Much like a yarn Advent calendar, the colorways are a surprise. Just know that they will be fun spring colors, and they will be completely different than previous years.
I have the Eight Days of Advent Kits available as a pre-order starting today, and I will have them available until either the middle of March or whenever they sell out. I’ll begin dyeing them up in mid-March and have them ready to send by April 5th–in plenty of time to arrive by Easter, which is on April 17th this year.
You can find out more or order your own kit right here.
Jane Austen Trio
I’ve been continuing to dye up springtime in spite of the return of winter weather. This week, I dyed up three of my favorite Jane Austen colorways, and I think they would go beautifully together as a gradient shawl. They are Marianne from Sense and Sensibility, Lizzie from Pride and Prejudice, and Anne Elliot from Persuasion. Here they are together on Sparkly Merino Sock:
If you got one of my Advent calendars in 2021, you’ll recognize these colorways from that. I also dyed these three on Sock Perfection and Squoosh DK.
Anne Elliot was my absolute favorite from the Advent calendars. Here it is on its own:
I have these three colorways listed individually rather than as a set. If you need some semi-solids to blend with them, they would go beautifully with Renaissance Blue, Lilac, Marigold, and Rosy-Fingered Dawn.
Meanwhile, I think the three Jane Austen colorways together would be wonderful for any number of three-skein shawls. Helen Stewart’s Impressionist Shawl (ravelry link) comes to mind.
Freshly Dyed Yarn
I also dyed up Crab Nebula on lots of different yarn bases this week. Here it is on Squiggle Sock:
I dyed Crab Nebula on six different yarn bases, so there’s lots to choose from.
I dyed Contentment for the first time in a very long time. It’s right at the cusp between blue and green, and it’s just a lovely soft colorway. Here it is on So Silky Sock:
While I write this, Eggplant is in the steamers, and I just finished dyeing Copper Roof. It’s still drying, but here it is on Squoosh DK:
New Art Batts
This week, two of my family members created completely new art batt colorways. I can’t decide which one I like better! The first one is called Out of the Depths, and my husband created it using a very dark navy blue as the background color. Here that is:
The other new art batt colorway was created by one of my sons. He named it Enchanted Glade, and it’s full of merino, silk, bamboo, and baby camel down. Here that one is:
I think that’s everything for today. I will “see you” next week! Stay well, and happy fiber artistry!
