Beautiful Universe is my most popular colorway, but it’s also the one that takes the most time to dye. For that reason, I don’t have it in the regular dyed to order section of my shop. Right now, though, I finally have enough open space on my dye calendar to be able to dye it up for you. The last time was in December.
This time I’m offering Beautiful Universe on all twelve yarn bases. However, keep in mind that it will be brighter and the colors will be more differentiated on the superwash yarn bases.
I’m going to keep the preorder open through Monday and then start dyeing the yarn. I expect it to be ready to ship by the end of April at the latest.
My two personal favorite yarn bases for Beautiful Universe are Stained Glass Sock and Twinkle Sock.
Here it is on Stained Glass Sock:

…and here it is on Twinkle Sock where the sparkles look like stars:

If you need some Beautiful Universe socks in your life, I’d recommend Sock Perfection:

Keep in mind that this colorway varies from batch to batch more than most because of the way the different dyes interact each time.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
In addition to dyeing the April club colorways this week, I also dyed Regal, Van Gogh’s Starry Night, and Jones’ Les Vendeuses de Tissue.
Here is Regal on Stained Glass Sock:

Here’s Van Gogh’s Starry Night on Twinkle Sock:

…and here is Les Vendeuses de Tissue by Lois Jones:

For reference, here’s the painting this was based on:

I used this colorway to make my Rippling Wings Shawl:

I also have Les Vendeuses de Tissue available as art batts:

New Dyed to Order Colorways
I added Smitten and Dappled Things to the dyed to order section of my shop this week. Here is a sample I knit using Smitten on Squoosh DK:

…and here is a sample of Dappled Things:

As you can see, Dappled Things is an assigned pooling colorway, and this was knit by my friend Natalie using the floret stitch from Dawn Barker’s Float shawl.
