Good morning, and happy Friday to you. Today it is rainy and gray outside, but I’m so happy to have the much-needed rain that I don’t mind at all.
This week, I finished dyeing up the last of my Lord of the Rings themed minis for the Advent calendar kits, and now I am working on twisting all of them. I am hoping to have all the twisting done by the end of Saturday. It’s great work for doing and listening to an audio book at the same time. I even took them to my children’s homeschool co-op yesterday and got three of the twenty-four colorways twisted up while we were there.
Here’s a photo of the first half all twisted up but in black and white so I don’t give away the colorways:
After I’m done twisting, the next step will be packaging each mini in its own little box complete with a label for the colorway and location in the story. I’m really pleased with how these turned out. I created each colorway based on a location on Frodo and Sam’s journey, and I think I managed to be faithful to the story while also creating colorways that will look good together. If you ordered one, I hope you love using it! They are all sold out now, but I’m already thinking about next year’s.
Spooky Sale
I must admit that I did not manage to make any Halloween colorways this year, but it’s still such a fun holiday, so I thought I would have a sale on all my DK-weight yarn to celebrate. Use the coupon code SPOOKY15 to take 15% off my in-stock Buttery Soft DK and Squoosh DK. Here’s the link directly to the sale.
Buttery Soft DK is one of my personal favorites. It’s made of 45% baby alpaca, 45% non-superwash merino, and 10% silk. It’s just so incredibly soft and lovely! Here are a few of the colorways in the sale:
Squoosh DK is also really lovely. It’s made of 100% extra-soft superwash merino, and it comes in big 4 ounce skeins. Here is a sampling of the Squoosh DK I have right now:
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or ask through the chat portal on my website. I’ll be here twisting yarn. Have a beautiful weekend.
