This week I had lots of dyed-to-order orders to fulfill, so I took advantage of the opportunity to dye up more of those colorways for the shop. That means I have a veritable smorgasbord of colorways for you.
I started with Afremov’s Farewell to Anger, which I now have on four different yarn bases. Here it is on Twinkle Sock for the first time:
It goes beautifully with so many different colorways, including The Winedark Sea, Annunciation Blue, Sunflower, and Eggplant.

The next colorway I dyed up was The Great Black Bull, inspired by the 20,000 year old cave paintings found in Lascaux, France. Here that is on Squoosh DK:
I also have it in stock on Sock Perfection and Stained Glass Sock. The Great Black Bull looks great with Annunciation Blue.
–
After The Great Black Bull, I dyed three colorways that I think look great together. They are Pumpkin Spice Latte, Copper Roof, and Turquoise. I have them listed separately, but here they are together on Stained Glass Sock:
Pumpkin Spice Latte and Copper Roof are both assigned pooling colorways, and Turquoise is a semi-solid.

Here’s another colorway combination using Turquoise (right) with Purple Delight (left) and Sapphire Dreams (middle) on Twinkle Sock:

Best Laid Plans
Last week, I mentioned that I was planning to publish the new pattern I have been working on in time for this newsletter. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t knit fast enough! The pattern is all finished, but I wanted to finish up a second sample so I could include all the measurements in the pattern, and I’m still not quite done in spite of knitting as long and as fast as I could.
Meanwhile, though, I was hoping you could help me with the name. Here’s the first version I made using Lois Jones’ Les Vendeuses de Tissue on Squoosh Worsted:
I was originally going to call it the Ripple Shawl, but now I’m wondering about calling it simply Wings.
Here is the one I’m still working on using Georgia O’Keeffe’s Blue and Green Music on Twinkle Sock:
Until I get it off the needles, I can’t really show you the whole thing all at once, but as you can see, there are horizontal “ripples,” but the whole thing is a wide and relatively shallow triangle knit from side to side.
Which name do you prefer? The Ripple Shawl or Wings? As of right now, I’m tending toward Wings, but I would love to hear your thoughts.

On a Personal Note
Last week we had a lovely visit with our oldest daughter and her family who came to visit. This week, we had a surprise visit from our younger daughter who decided to come visit during her fall break as a teacher. She conspired with one of her brothers, and we had no idea until she actually arrived and he said he needed help with something in his car! We got to add to the surprise when she went with my husband to pick up our oldest son from the airport when he returned from a trip late last night. As I write this, these three young adults are sitting on the sofa playing an old video game from their childhood together and having lots of fun.

After the Hurricanes
The other thing that is on my mind of course is all the devastation from the two recent hurricanes. World Central Kitchen is on the ground now in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee serving meals to those in need. I am planning to donate 20% of all sales this week to World Central Kitchen to help with their efforts. You can learn more about what they do right here.
