I decided to end the year with a sale on all the fiber for spinners and felters too. This includes all my art batts, hand-dyed top, and silk hankies. There’s no coupon code needed and no minimum order either. Just enjoy 15% off! You’ll see the discount in your cart. The sale lasts through the end of the year, which is Tuesday at midnight.
I don’t often have a sale on art batts, and we make the art batts when you order them so they are fresh and fluffy. If there are lots of orders, it may take a little longer than the usual one week to get these made and shipped, but we will get them carded up as quickly as possible.
Here are some of my personal favorites:

January Club Colorway
We are still edging our way into the early Renaissance. Last month was a fresco by Giotto who is known as the father of the Renaissance. This month we are moving a little further forward in time to 1338 and the Republic of Siena. In the Sala dei Nove (Room of the Nine), Ambrogio Lorenzetti painted three frescos known as The Allegory of Good and Bad Government as a warning to the nine magistrates who were charged with running the city. Interestingly, the magistrates only governed for two months at a time, so every two months, one magistrate left and another took his place.
The frescos cover three walls and depict six different scenes–good government, its effects on the city, and its effects on the country as well as bad government with its effects on the city and the country. Here is a video with an explanation of the entire masterpiece.
Here is the fresco showing good government with figures representing Justice, Peace, Fortitude, Prudence, Magnanimity, Temperance, and Wisdom–all needed to govern well.
For this month’s club colorway and honestly for reasons of color more than anything else, I opted to focus on the fresco entitled Effects of Good Government on the City. Here that is:
I’m excited to make this! As always, you can join the club or make any changes to your club subscription by the end of the month.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
This week I dyed up Caribbean Sunset on several yarn bases. Here it is on Twinkle Sock for the first time:
This is such a cool colorway. My son Joseph created it. One third of the skein depicts the ocean, the opposite third depicts the sky at sunset, and the middle third shows the sky reflecting on the water.
I am also dyeing up Beowulf as I write this. Hopefully I’ll have it listed by the time you read this. Here is a sample I knit from it.
The main color is gray with pops of red, green, purple, and blue.
