Over the years, I have interviewed quite a few amazing designers, and I thought I would take a moment this week to put links to all of them in one place so you can see what your favorite designers had to say.
Here they all are:
- Alexa and Emily of Tin Can Knits
- Ambah O’Brien
- Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits
- Barbara Benson
- Cindy of Orange Smoothie Knits
- Dana Gervais
- Helaina Hovitz of Chic and Regal Knits
- Jenny of SweaterFreak
- Kathryn Ware of KPC Wear
- Lena Matthisson of Softyarn Designs
- Melissa of DaKine Knits
- Noreen of Stitch Wren Crochet
- Suzanne Nielsen
- Taiga Hilliard of Cashmere Junkie
- Woolly Wormhead
- Last and definitely least – In Which the Crazy Yarn Lady Interviews Herself
With that said, I would love to hear back from you. I haven’t done one of these interviews in quite a while. Is this something that interests you? Should I reach out to more designers, and if so, whom would you especially like to hear from?

The August Club Colorway
I’m going to be basing the club colorway for August on the work of the first professional artist in England. It’s such a funny thing to think about, but I guess there had to be a first. His name was Master Hugo, and he is best known for illustrating the first volume of the Bury Bible from Saint Edmund’s Abbey in 1135. He was one of the best known artists from England in the Romanesque period, and he also made the bronze doors and crucifix for the abbey church. I chose this illustration in which Moses tells the Israelites about the ten commandments as well as what they could and could not eat. Here it is:
I love the deep, rich colors! If you are a club member or choose to become a club member, you’ll receive the yarn or art batts based on this beautiful work of art right around the middle of August.

Advent Calendar Update
I’m finishing my plans for this year’s Advent calendar yarn kits, and I expect to have them ready for preorder beginning in early August. I’m going to be using The Trifle Wrap by Helen Stewart as the knitting pattern, and I’ll be using this gorgeous photo of Cassiopeia as the inspiration for the colors:
I’m planning to use a merino/silk yarn base for the 24 mini skeins, and the colorways will all be semi-solid/tonal colorways this year. Now I just have to put pen to paper and get all the numbers worked out.
I do have one question for all of you though. Please let me know if you are a crocheter who is interested in getting an Advent calendar from me. If there are enough of you, I will try to come up with a crochet pattern option too.

About the Show and Tell Newsletter
I had planned to do a Show and Tell newsletter today, but I didn’t get enough projects just yet. I expect lots of you are traveling for the summer. I’m going to put that off for now, but anytime you have projects to share for the Show and Tell newsletter, feel free to email them to me. I’ll hang onto them until the next time.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and that you find time to enjoy creating beautiful things with yarn and fiber!
