This week I’m having a preorder on Beautiful Universe. I know this is a favorite for many of you (and for me too), and it tends to sell out rather quickly each time I make it. Because of that, I thought I would offer it as a dyed to order for a change so everyone who wants some can get it.
Here it is on lots of different yarn bases:
From left to right they are Sock Perfection, Sparkly Merino Sock, Stained Glass Sock, Squiggle Sock, Squoosh DK, and Squoosh Worsted. I’ll be replacing Sparkly Merino Sock with the new Twinkle Sock, but I’ll be offering the preorder on all of these bases plus Suri Lace Cloud and So Silky Sock.
I’m not offering them on Dream Sock or Buttery Soft DK because I find that this particular colorway loses some of its luster on non-superwash yarn bases. As I’ve mentioned in the past, the dye moves around more on non-superwash yarn bases and strikes more quickly on superwash yarn bases, so I try to use that to my advantage.
I have the preorder open through next Tuesday the 10th, and then I’ll start dyeing them up. My goal is to have them shipped by the end of the year so you’ll have Beautiful Universe to start the new year.

A Close Call on the Buttery Soft DK Club and a Question for You
If you are a member of the Buttery Soft DK club, I have a question for you.
A few weeks ago, I started to run short on Buttery Soft DK, but my wholesaler assured me that they were expecting it the next week, so I went ahead and used what I had for dyed to order colorways, expecting to have it in stock again in time for the clubs. Every day I checked to see if it was in stock yet so I could order it. They told me it was stuck in a container ship at the port, but they were still waiting for it. I started trying to figure out what I was going to tell those of you who are members of the Buttery Soft DK club. To say that it was stressing me out is an understatement because I didn’t want to disappoint you.
The good news is that my wholesaler said they will have it in stock today about the same time you are reading this. If that happens, I should have it by late next week, and I’ll dye up the club colorway on it the very next day.
In spite of that, it is probably going to be a little later than the usual middle of the month I’m sorry to say, and then there is all the craziness of mail near the holidays, which makes everything take a little longer.
I have all the other bases in stock, and I’ll be starting to dye the rest of the club colorways in the next few days, so if any of you Buttery Soft DK club members would like to switch to a different yarn base for the December club colorway, just email me and I will make the switch for you for this month and refund the difference if there is one. You can choose from Sock Perfection, Twinkle Sock, So Silky Sock, or Squoosh DK. If you would prefer to stick with Buttery Soft DK, that’s just fine too. Just know that I will get them to you as soon as I possibly can, and I am truly sorry for the wait.

Fresh from the Dye Pots
I have dyed up several fresh-dyed colorways this week. The first one is one I have not dyed in over a year. It’s called Sage, and it’s a semi-solid with gold and blue speckles. Here it is on Squoosh DK:
It goes well with Afremov’s Farewell to Anger, Eowyn Meets with Aragorn, Monet’s Cathedral, and especially The Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen.
I also dyed more of Afremov’s Farewell to Anger. Here is a closeup of a hat I knit using Farewell to Anger:
It is just such a fun colorway. It has so many different dye colors in it that it looks a little different each time I dyed it.
I also dyed Dreams of the Sea for the first time in quite a while. Here that is on So Silky Sock:
This one goes with lots of colorways too, but I especially love it with The Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen and Visit to Lyme.
Speaking of those two colorways, this week I looked up at my yarn racks and noticed how lovely these three colorways look together for a subtle gradient. They are The Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen, Visit to Lyme, Eowyn Meets with Aragorn.
This would be a great combination for my Angel Wings Ponchette pattern!

I think that’s everything for this week. I hope you have a cozy weekend full of warm drinks and soft yarn!
