A Preorder for Poinsettias and a Long-Lost Colorway

This week, I am finally done with the whirlwind of the last couple months. I sent all the Advent calendars, all the club colorways for November, and all the outstanding dye-to-order orders. That means I have the time and space to do some really fun things!

A Preorder for Poinsettias

I don’t know about you, but I’m always shocked by how quickly September turns into December! That being the case, I decided to set up a preorder for my favorite Christmas colorway, Poinsettia. It’s an ikat colorway. First I tie off short sections of the skein and dye the rest of it a lovely red. Then I undo the resists and dye the rest a dark Christmas green. Here it is on Squoosh DK:

Here’s what it looks like knit up in stockinette:

I set up a preorder for it on your choice of a variety of yarn bases in my shop here. It’s going to be a quick turnaround though. ‘m just going to leave the preorder open through Sunday night so I can start dyeing them on Monday and get them off to you by the end of the week–in time for you to make something fun before Christmas. Some ideas include a pair of socks, a Christmas cowl or hat, or a one-skein wonder shawl. Sparktacular by Chic and Regal Knits is a good option for a one-skein shawl. She used a different Ikat colorway of mine when she was designing it.

Fresh from the Dye Pots

This week, I dyed up several colorways. I dyed Peacock Feathers on Buttery Soft DK for the first time. Here that is:

I also dyed Autumn Leaves on Buttery Soft DK:

I dyed Annunciation Blue and Burgundy Rose too.

The one I’m most excited about though is Telemachus from my Odyssey collection in 2021! Here is Telemachus on Twinkle Sock:

I also dyed it on Sock Perfection…

…and on Stained Glass Sock:

You can find them all right here along with some pairing suggestions.

I think that’s everything for this week. I hope you enjoy the fiber arts and the fall weather together this weekend. See you next Friday!
