A New Assigned Pooling Colorway
If you have been around these parts, you may be familiar with my Monet’s Water Lilies colorway. Monet made a whole beautiful series of Water Lily paintings. I chose this one as inspiration:
Here is the “regular” version of Monet’s Water Lilies on So Silky Sock:
However, I have been wanting to make an assigned-pooling version of this colorway for quite a while. When my friend Debbi of Deborah Bowanko Designs was asking for suggestions for an assigned-pooling colorway for a new pattern, it seemed like the perfect time to make it.
The assigned-pooling section is Lilac, and the rest of the colorway is the same as the one you see above. I just pulled the last of these out of the dye pots a few minutes ago. Here is the assigned-pooling version of Monet’s Water Lilies on So Silky Sock:
By the time you read this, the other yarn bases should be dry enough to photograph and list as well. You’ll be able to see them all right here.
Freshly Dyed Lord of the Rings Colorways
I also filled up the corners so to speak by dyeing up the Lord of the Rings colorways that had sold out. Here are all seven on Stained Glass Sock:
I went ahead and knit up some samples so you can get an idea of how they will work up. While the skeins shown above are on Stained Glass Sock, the knit samples are on Squoosh DK.
Which ones do you like, and which ones don’t really appeal to you? I’m probably going to be narrowing down the collection somewhat before I dye them up again, so I would love your input.
Last Chance for Easter Kits
I’m going to start dyeing up the Eight Days of Easter kits next week, so this weekend is the last chance to order one for yourself or for your favorite fiber artist. I can’t wait to get started dyeing these!
The included pattern is the Mini Madness Shawl by Angie Kimel.
On a Personal Note
We are having the most amazing beautiful weather. Spring seems to have come early. I am trying very hard to resist the urge to start planting vegetable seeds. Am I the only one who gets that urge every spring? I think it must be instinctual.
I told my family I wouldn’t be planting a vegetable garden this year, but they are more than welcome to do it. I keep having to remind myself that there is only one of me, and I need to focus my attentions on homeschooling our youngest boys and making lovely yarn and fiber.
I hope your weather is equally beautiful and that you find some time to create and that your creative act bring you joy.
