Good morning, and happy Friday to you. I have two really important things to tell you about today, and of course I have some fresh-squeezed yarn to share too.
Pools of Color KAL
Let’s start with The Knit-Along (KAL) that Deborah Bowanko will be running for her beautiful new pattern, Pools of Color. Pools of color is a lovely lacey shawl with lots of different fun stitches that uses an assigned pooling colorway in a unique and wonderful way.
You can go ahead and order the pattern starting today right here on Ravelry. Use the coupon code Color20 to take 20% off when you do. Because of the upcoming KAL, when you buy the pattern, you’ll get the info you need about the yarn and some other details, but the complete pattern will actually go live on July 29th, just in time for the Knit-Along beginning on August 1st. Once you have the pattern in your Ravelry library, it will automatically update to include all the steps on July 29th.
The knit-along will take place in the Never Enough Lace group on Ravelry, so while you’re there, be sure to join the group. Here is the link directly to the knit-along topic for Pools of Color within the Never Enough Lace group.
After you go grab the pattern, come on over to my shop and choose the colorways to go with it. There is a smaller version and a larger version. The smaller version calls for one skein of Sock Perfection dyed for assigned pooling plus two mini skeins. I have sets already dyed up for these on my website right here. Here are the different possibilities I have dyed up for the smaller version of Pools of Color:
You’ll need 450 yards for the main assigned pooling colorway, so be sure to order it on Sock Perfection or go with one of the sets I have already made since my other sock-weight yarn bases have a little less yardage.
As you can see, Deborah’s sample is dyed in Crocuses in Snow with Eggplant minis for the beautiful edge. I also made a dyed to order listing for all six sets that you see above so you can be sure to get the colorway set you want even if that set has sold out. You can find that in the Kits and Sets section of my shop right here as well.
For the larger version, you’ll need two full skeins of the assigned pooling colorway and one full skein of a matching semi-solid. For the larger version, you can choose any of my sock-weight yarn bases and not just Sock Perfection. I made a dyed to order listing for the larger set as well with 3 different colorway combos on 3 different yarn bases. That listing is also in Kits and Sets. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for me to dye up the dyed to order sets and ship those out to you.
If you want to go with a different assigned pooling colorway, feel free to reach out to me so I can help you find the perfect matching semi-solid. If you have questions about the pattern, please reach out to Deborah, the fabulous designer. This is going to be so much fun!!!!

A Sale of Two Yarn Bases
I’m trying to make a pun on A Tale of Two Cities, but I’m not sure if it’s working. Anyway, last week I mentioned that the poll results on new yarn bases were in, and I’m going to be adding Alpaca Lace Cloud and Diamond Silk Sock to my line. Those are on their way to me as we speak, and I can’t wait to start dyeing them and sharing them with you.
I’m also planning to switch from Wonderful Worsted to an even softer and slightly heavier worsted-weight yarn base in the fall. It’s the same extra-fine merino that you know and love from Squoosh DK.
I’ll tell you more about the new worsted-weight yarn base as autumn draws closer, but meanwhile, in order to make space for those three new yarn bases, I am going to be letting go of both Feather Sock and Wonderful Worsted.
The good news is that means a sale. Right now! I’m offering 20% off all the yarn I have in stock on Feather Sock and Wonderful Worsted. Just click on the link right here to see everything in the sale and have the coupon code added to your cart. The coupon code is ASALEOF2YARNBASES. I’m going to keep the sale private for just you subscribers throughout the day today so you get first pick, and then I’ll spread the word on social media tomorrow.

Hand-Dyed Top
I don’t often have hand-dyed top in the shop these days, but I was able to dye up some merino-cashmere top and some alpaca-silk top this week. I even sat down and spun up a tiny sample of the merino-cashmere top. Here that is:
You can find my hand-dyed top as well as silk hankies and art batts in the Fiber to Spin and Felt section of my shop.
Fresh-Squeezed Yarn
How’s that for a fun term for newly dyed yarn? This week, my big focus has been on dyeing the June club colorways, which are all on their way a little earlier than usual this month. However, I also dyed up Annunciation Blue and more of Van Gogh’s Starry Night since that disappeared rather quickly last week. I dyed the assigned pooling version of It’s Complicated too, and I’ll be dyeing Monet’s Cathedral today.
I hope you have a wonderful week. If you are where all the smoke is, stay safe. It’s a good time to stay inside and enjoy your yarn and fiber.
