Good morning! I hope you are doing well. First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who took part in my art batt sale last weekend. With a lot of help from my husband and our older children, we are almost done carding all the art batts and getting them packaged and shipped out!
Long-Lost Colorways
This week, I wanted to share a few colorways I just dyed up. A couple of them are actually long-lost colorways that I had not made in more than a year!
The first one is called Sunset Orange. It’s a soft, peachy orange with some reddish-pink speckles that was inspired by that beautiful color that comes just at the edge of sunset. It’s so perfect for summer! Here it is on Sock Perfection:
I dyed Sunset Orange on 6 different yarn bases, and it would go beautifully with Paris or Monet’s Houses of Parliament.
I also dyed The Hands of the King for the first time in quite a while. Here it is on Squoosh DK:
The Hands of the King was inspired by the character of Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings. At one point, an old and very talkative woman says that there is an old saying that the hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and he goes on to prove the saying true. It would look great with Sage, Lilac, Eggplant, Margarita, and Annunciation Blue.
Last but not least is Van Gogh’s Starry Night. I made this one last over a year ago. I dyed it on Sock Perfection and Sparkly Merino Sock this time. Here it is on Sparkly Merino Sock:
Starry Night would look great with Sunflower, Annunciation Blue, and Sage to name a few.
Here is a hat I knit using Starry Night on Wonderful Worsted awhile back:
Free Diamond Twist Cowl Pattern This Week
You can tell I really enjoy this colorway because I also knit it up as a cowl using my Diamond Twist Cowl pattern. Here that is:
This is such a fun and easy cowl pattern, and it would work beautifully with any of my sock-weight yarn colorways. I’m going to make the pattern free for those of you who get my newsletter this week. You can find it on Ravelry right here. Just use the coupon code DIAMONDS4FREE anytime between now and Sunday, June 12th. If you are not on Ravelry, let me know and I’ll find another way to get it to you.
I think that’s everything for this week. Until next time, I hope you have a great week, and I hope you find some time to enjoy the fiber arts.
